Haul 4

Ballydowane Cove is getting tidier and tidier.  As well as my removals, there is a couple who clean up the beach, even at times (I think) employing a car and trailer for the purpose.  As a result all the plastic containers, large and small, are gone as are most of the plastic bottles except for those that get washed in and dropped on a too regular basis.  I collected small stuff this time around, bottle tops mainly, and came away with these few pieces as my reward.

This last piece of fabric is from a coat.  I keep finding pieces amongst the weed.  I wonder if I will find the whole thing?  I love the colour and the worn creases.

Bike, bounty and Ballyvooney

Ballyvooney is within cycling distance for me.  And when I say cycling I mean downhill all the way there and uphill (and pushing) ALL the way back.  It is worth it though.  The view from the top of the cove leaves me breathless even if I haven't just pushed the bike to the top!

Rock

This rock arch is at Ballyvooney Cove and is accessible at a good low tide.  It leads onto two further rock arches (one is a rock tunnel really) and three pebbly beaches with amazing rock formations, little caves and a sea-worn rock pavement like the limestone pavements of the Burren or Yorkshire Dales.

Warm Memories

It is cold and grey and raw where I am today and I feel in need of sun and heat so here are a few photos from the glorious summer of 2014 when I came on house-hunting visits to Waterford and got a taste of what was in store.  This is Ardmore.

Retro beach

I don't often take 'beach' photos, being far more interested in the micro rather than the macro.  But the cliff at Ballydowane is fabulous with its shades of turquoisey-green and dusky, dusty pink.  I was messing with Photoshop and this resulted - it reminds me of a 1970's postcard of the beach.
